Elena Igartuburu es profesora en la Universidad de Oviedo, miembro del grupo de investigación Intersecciones y parte del proyecto de investigación SOLIDARITIES (PID2021-127052OB-IOO). Tras obtener su Doctorado en Género y Diversidad (U. Oviedo), ha sido profesora en Universidad de Massachusetts Amherst y SUNY New Paltz. Su investigación se centra en teorías relacionadas con la raza, el género, el movimiento y la coreografía en textos contemporáneos de Estados Unidos y el Caribe. Recientemente, ha publicado su monográfico Affect, Performativity and Chinese Diasporas in the Caribbean: Hopeful Futures (Routledge, 2024).
